Program and Services
· Crisis Counselling-help with issues ranging from death to playground conflicts
· Individual Counselling-one on one short-term consultation concerning any number of counselling issues
. Referral Counselling-due to the itinerant nature of this counselling program, the counsellor will research helpful programs and professionals to support students and their families
· Small Group Counselling-on issues such as grief, too much anger, too much worry or any concerns that unfavorably affect school life
· Classroom Visit-classroom circle demonstration conversations; Joey (youth development co-ordinator) & Mrs. Watkins activity-based visits
· Let's Chill Drop-in Club-designed to practice relaxation, stretching, breathing strategies to keep calmness around and reduce the influence of too much stress.
· Anti-bullying Project-too much meanness/bullying/excluding addressed through restorational practices, anti-bullying classroom conversations, individual/group counselling conversations and anonymous reporting of harassing behaviors. Anti-bullying conversations are focused on inviting students (who engage in bullying and who practice by-standing) into positions of accountability and responsibility
· Consultations-with parents, teachers and community partners
· Assistance-in the creation of treaties and agreements between parents, teachers, administrators and children against problems
